One United Properties joins this year’s Winners Open tennis tour taking place in Cluj-Napoca between the 1st and the 8th of August, after the Olympic Games. Winners Open is currently the only tennis tournament in Romania included in the WTA circuit and the first one in Cluj. The Winners Open, a WTA 250 event, will be played outdoors on clay and will feature a 32-player singles main draw and 16-team doubles draw. Cluj-Napoca will host over 60 players from the WTA circuit in August. There will be 2 days of qualifying, and the prizes at stake are USD 235,238. The matches will take place on 3 courts, and spectators will be allowed. In addition, there will be 3 practice courts. The main court will have a grandstand with a 1200 people capacity. The tournament will be broadcasted globally in over 150 countries. The players will have a special circuit to ensure their safety measures, and the press conferences will take place online.
At the moment, Romania’s novel Winners Open is the only European tournament that is set to commence in August 2021, so it is expected to be of high interest.
