Chief accountant


We are looking for a dynamic, flexible and team player professional to join our team as a Chief Accountant.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and supervising the daily accounting operations of several companies within the group, including the monthly closing process of the month for internal reporting and authorities;
  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and producing reports, financial statements, and fiscal declarations;
  • Responsible with monthly accounts reconciliation and coordinates monthly accounts closing process as per the accounting closing procedure to ensure the accuracy of GL accounts, general expenses, company’s income, and other financial information, both in lei and foreign currencies;
  • Ensures that all necessary documents which supporting the transactions are requested, compiled, collected, and archived;
  • Coordinating monthly, quarterly, semester, yearly reports;
  • Handle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role e.g. AR, AP, GL, forecasting, budgeting;
  • Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations; full responsibility for the accuracy, reliability, and control of the accounting records;
  • Perform a full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of accounts;
  • Perform cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls;
  • Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting and working closely with the operations and project teams in analyzing margins, variances and cost analysis;
  • Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the setup;
  • Establish and maintain systems for cost-sensitivity analysis and early-warning of cost-overruns;
  • Work consultative with the respective departments on cost reduction initiatives.
  • Reconciles sales and purchase journals with accounts to ensure each operation is properly considered for VAT calculation and prepares the VAT statements;
  • Directly involved in annual inventory of accounts, centralizing supportive documentation to confirm balances, checking and reconciling balances of synthetic and analytic accounts with internally generated sources of information, suppliers, customers, tax authorities and other related or third parties to ensure their accuracy; within this scope makes physical controls over company’s assets (cash, fixed assets, inventories and materials, others);
  • Coordinating/monitoring the accounting process for different transactions according to local and group accounting regulations;
  • Coordination of the optimal performance of external audit;
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions;
  • Cooperate closely with accountants/tax advisors / legal advisers in the areas of accounting, in particular:
    • in accounting record of new transactions/documents;
    • applying the new legislative regulations in the field of accounting;
  • Other projects/issues that may have a significant impact on company accounts – acting as a finance business partner in the company’s projects;
  • Assists company leadership in preparing statistics and decision-making through guidance, advice, and information.

Qualifications

  • Certified accountant
  • ACCA/CIMA will be a plus

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a similar position
  • Experience in the implementation of complex systems and accounting systems / ERP experience
